Regarding this episode about Services and Automator, I’ve used Automator to make small specialized apps. One, I will describe here, fits into both this episode, as well as your show about backup.

I created a little app that takes my entire documents folder and zips it up, and places the zip file into my dropbox. I have this happen weekly by scheduling that app to run as a recurring event in iCal. Works like a charm.

Now to think up some more neat manuevers I can do with Automator.
